Who We Are

Green Landscape Association(GrEEN) is a Cameroon based nonprofit organization working in the South West, North West and West Regions of Cameroon. 

GrEEN is contributing in restoring degraded landscapes and impacting the lives of smallholder farmers through agroforestry and tree planting, conservation of biodiversity through advocacy and sustainable management of degraded agricultural lands, promoting environmental education, as well as empowering rural communities through innovative economic and livelihood development programs.

GrEEN was founded as Green Landscape Association (GrEEN) with its legal head office in Buea, Fako Division, Southwest, Cameroon.

We believe in a world where humans live in harmony with nature, biodiversity conserved and degraded landscapes restored.

Our Mission

GrEEN mission is to conserve species, empower rural communities and improve on the food security and income of resource-poor farmers through the restoration of degraded agricultural lands.

Our Programs

We engage in a number of programs to help conserve biodiversity and protect environments while empowering rural communities through innovative economic and livelihood development programs.

Restoration of degraded ecosystem

Planting of agroforestry and other economic native trees. Restoration of the water catchment areas by planting of environmentally friendly trees. Natural regeneration and assisted natural regeneration. Forest degradation in the target area is largely due to deforestation and unsustainable agricultural practices.

Food security and Livelihood

Promotion of sustainable agriculture, agrobiodiversity, agroecology, agroforestry, organic farming and forest gardening for the rural small-scale farmers. Supporting local livelihood development with alternative income generating options such as bee keeping, cassava processing, animal husbandry, and processing of non-timber forest products (NTFPs).

Conservation

The conservation program aims to protect and preserve threatened species of animals, plants, and birds. It involves a range of activities such as habitat restoration, reintroduction of endangered species, monitoring of population and enforcing laws and regulations that protect these species.
